There’s no shortage of cafés and restaurants in the Marais (or in all of Paris for that matter), and yet some are more popular than others. La Terrasse des Archives distinguishes itself through consistently good food, friendly service, and a perfectly situated outdoor patio that allows for great people-watching.

A stone’s throw from the Musée des Archives Nationales, the Musée de la Chasse, and the Musée Picasso, this is a good location for a quick bite between cultural escapades in the neighborhood, a business lunch, or simply catching up with a friend over a bottle of wine.

The menu is varied and the food is good. Expect eggs for breakfast and brunch, salads, beef, burgers, and pasta dishes for lunch and dinner, as well as a nice assortment of fish and seafood. The desserts are delicious. If you have trouble choosing between tiramisù and crème brulée, do yourself a favor and order a café gourmand. You’ll get your caffeine kick as well as a nice trio of desserts to enjoy.

The drinks menu is extensive, covering wine, beer, and everything in between. If cocktails are more your thing, rejoice. Happy hour (daily 4-8 PM) brings you lots of options for only 6 euros a glass.

The restaurant is open daily, 07:30 – 02:00 on weekdays and 08:30 – 2:00 on weekends.
